An archaeological dig in Biddenham, near Bedford, uncovered a Neolithic or early Bronze Age monument, alongside Iron Age and Anglo-Saxon remains. Project manager Iain Leslie described the findings as significant, offering insights into past human activities over 6,000 years.
The site, where homes are planned to be built, revealed an ancient oven, storage pits, and a sunken-featured building from the Anglo-Saxon period. The archaeological work was mandated before construction could proceed, highlighting the site’s historical importance.
