Residents of Biddenham were shocked to learn about a frightening car crash at the junction of Main Road and The Paddock on the evening of Saturday, October 14th. Several witnesses were nearby, and it’s remarkable that no one suffered serious injuries.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing two cars “racing” down Biddenham Turn and onto Main Road, allegedly exceeding speeds of 80 mph. One driver lost control at King’s Corner and, fortunately for those in the car, ended up in the bushes at The Paddock entrance, narrowly missing pedestrians. Both the young driver and his even younger passenger emerged without injuries.
This incident highlights ongoing issues with reckless and illegal driving throughout Biddenham, which has raised significant concern among residents. Just before the crash, Parish Council Chairman Stewart Briggs and Borough Councillor Jon Gambold met with the Mayor and Borough Officers to address the problem and seek solutions (see the Parish Council report on page 5). As of October 22nd, there has been no constructive response from the Mayor, but both Stewart and Jon continue to advocate for action.
