From The Bedford Borough Council:-
If you are planning to enjoy the countryside on public rights of way over the Christmas and New Year holidays why not sit down with a mince pie and a nice cup of tea after your walks and rides and ‘Have your say on Rights of Way’ – the Bedford Borough Rights of Way Improvement Plan 2018 – 2023 public consultation.
The new five year programme to improve the public rights of way network in Bedford Borough is now open to a public consultation which ends on the 5th February 2018. Bedford Borough Council is responsible for nearly one thousand kilometres of footpaths; bridleways and byways open to all traffic across the Borough and are asking local residents to share their thoughts on how to improve these routes, as well as how to encourage more people to enjoy and make use of them.
The Rights of Way Improvement Plan (RoWIP) sets out Bedford Borough Council’s proposed aims, objectives and practical actions for increasing ublic use and enjoyment of the Borough’s public rights of way network over the next five years, 2018 – 2023 (which can be viewed on the website link below). You can respond to the consultation in the following ways:
Copies of the RoWIP can also be read at the Bedford Borough libraries, Borough Hall reception and the Customer Service Centre (Horne Lane).
Hope you all enjoy access to the countryside with family and friends over the holidays and continue to do so for 2018.
