Following the many discussions about traffic safety at Gold Lane in Biddenham, it has finally been decided to form a new speed watch Group.
The Parish Council has, as a first step agreed to the purchase of a Speed Indication Device which will be deployed in Gold Lane. Depending upon the outcome, more could be obtained for other parts of the village. As a further step, the setting up of a Speed Watch group is being considered. Guidelines and a flyer are attached below. The group would be volunteers who would require formal training and authorisation by the Police and then conduct speed checks in parts of the village agreed with the BPC and/or the Police. The Speed Watch group would be involved in analysing all of the relevant information from these activities along with the Biddenham Parish Council and if necessary, the Police.
Anyone interested in joining the Speed Watch group for the village should forward their interest to firstname.lastname@example.org. Once a level of interest has been established contact can be made with the Police Community Speed Watch so that the necessary training can take place. This will probably start in the autumn.
